meTV

meTV is a weekly television show recorded on site, and watched by the entire school. It was developed as a pioneering way to use video self modelling and video peer modelling to engage special needs students, and to teach behavioural, academic, social, and personal skills. By using meTV as the vehicle, the entire school community, and the wider community benefits. The research literature suggests that video modeling and video self-modeling are effective interventions for working with children and adolescents, particularly those on the autism spectrum. It uses a first-person perspective to teach skills and appropriate behaviour to the students. The TV show also incorporates recent school events and achievements, as well as news and the teaching of academic skills.
