Welcome to Springvale Park Special Developmental School. The school is located in Springvale and is close to public transport. The school is set in attractive, well-maintained grounds that provide students with a variety of sporting, active play and passive areas. The school is well resourced and has state of the art facilities with outstanding teaching and learning spaces.

The values of Compassion, Respect and Integrity are central to our school community.

The school’s aim is for every student to reach their full potential and maximum level of independence by the time they leave school.

The school fosters close links with parents and the broader school community through our commitment to open and regular communication.

As principal of Springvale Park Special Developmental School, I am extremely proud of the work that we do to educate student with disabilities. We have a highly professional staff who strive to create excellent learning environments for every student.

Staff work in partnerships with families and carers to develop and review Individual learning goals. The learning is personalised for each student. We welcome your participation in the education of students.

We have a comprehensive curriculum based on the Victorian curriculum and a pathways program for senior students transitioning to post school options. The teachers are predominantly trained special educators supported by allied health professionals and education support officers with a lot of experience.

Specialist classes include physical education, outdoor education, The Arts and kitchen garden program. The therapy team consists of speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and a music therapist.

The school age population is 5-18 and we operate an Early Education Program (EEP) for preschool age children from 3 year olds to school age who have a global developmental delay or diagnosis. Three year olds attend 2 days per week and four year olds attend 3 days per week. Children are encouraged to attend our EEP and their mainstream kindergarten.

The school is committed to the Child Safe Standards and protecting the rights and safety of all the students in the school.

Please contact the school if you would like to organise a school tour. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
